About us
Our group came together out of concern about the fear being encouraged over co-governance. We aim to provide a range of views, particularly from those working on co-governing boards.
We have collated these resources while consulting with a wider group of Treaty educators and with several Māori organisations. We thank them for their time and their feedback.

Sue Abel
describes herself as Pākehā with Scottish ancestry on her father’s side and whakapapa links to Ngā Ruahine on her mother’s side. She has been a teacher, researcher and academic and since retirement has worked in the area of Treaty education.
Katherine Peet
identifies as Tangata Tiriti with British ancestors from Scotland, England and Ireland. After forensic science work and secondary teaching she moved in the mid-1970s to adult education, focusing on Network Waitangi Ōtautahi since 1984.
Jenny Rankine
was born in Australia of White parents, has lived in Aotearoa New Zealand for 43 years and describes herself as Pākehā. She has worked as a journalist, in public relations, and as a media researcher in a Māori/Pākehā research group.
Andrena McPhillips
is North Island born and South Island raised. For over twenty years, she has worked in business support and development roles in Third Sector organisations. As part of a desire for informative Treaty education, Andrena has joined Network Waitangi Ōtautahi.
